The BSc (hons) Professional Practice award we offer is different to a standard degree programme, as it is designed to be completed unit by unit. Applicants would therefore not enrol onto the BSc programme but instead enrol onto individual level 6 CPD units, paying for each unit as they undertake it. The costs for each unit are on the unit webpages.

Course overview

If you want to top-up your Diploma or Advanced Diploma to a full degree this is the course for you. The Professional Practice course is designed for any practitioner and all of our units are essentially work-based and will enable you to explore issues which are relevant to your professional speciality.

Our framework is ideal for busy health and social care professionals as it will allow you to study manageable ‘bite-sized’ units, at your convenience. You can gain new knowledge, refresh skills and ultimately enhance the client/patient care you are able to offer.

We've designed this course to enable busy health and social care practitioners to be able to study individual units, allowing you to steadily work towards a qualification, flexibly and at your own pace.

The structure of how to complete the BSc (hons) Professional Practice can been seen in the programme diagram, but essentially you need to study 100 level 6 credits of learning of your choice from the CPD Framework and also complete the mandatory unit of Locating and Evaluating Evidence for Professional Practice.

Please note that the timeframes for completing this course can vary depending on when you started your first CPD unit and your previous qualifications. If you are interested in this programme, please contact the HSS-CPD Admissions Team in the first instance so they can advise you of the timeframe.
